The male advocates have their cigarette breaks, after-office drinks session and advocates association halls to exchange ideas, network, air grievances and more.
On the other hand, a common concern with us, women advocates, has been the lack of a safe space to interact in, freely and without judgment.
Let us attempt to create this safe space together. Come share a cup of tea, a laugh, a tear or a story we want each other to hear, at an informal interaction.
Post-session conclusions -
Approach the AAB to fix the toilets in the court complex(es)
Share sexist / patriarchal interactions one may face in Court, for peer support, advise and maybe call out such interaction(s) when experienced by several of us.
Encourage a Mentor-Mentee equation with members of this group by reaching out on various professional difficulties one may encounter- academic, cultural, gendered or otherwise
Treat this group as a safe space while respecting concerns expressed and our interactions with each other.
Share positive experiences one has at the Bar, in Court or with Clients and remind ourselves that litigation does bring us joy.
